Alex is a Civil Engineer with 30 years’ experience in the construction industry in both New Zealand and the UK. His track record of successful projects includes large scale urban rail works, wastewater, water, and structural works.
He has worked on collaborative contracts, ECI and 3910 based construction contracts, and has a deep understanding of the expectation of clients to achieve best for project solutions.
Alex has extensive experience in large scale projects with multiple work fronts, where comprehensive planning, constructability input, temporary works, staging and stakeholder management are required to achieve overall programme goals. He is skilled in management, having successfully managed teams on works packages totalling up to $20M.
Project highlights include the Tekapo A New Intake Gate for Genesis Energy, North Wanaka Wastewater Conveyance Scheme for Queenstown Lakes District Council, Avon River Precinct project for Ōtākaro Ltd, Dudley Creek Flood Remediation Works, the Armagh Street Bridge project, and multiple works as part of the SCIRT alliance. Since joining the DS Project Solutions team, Alex has been providing Engineer’s Estimates, parallel pricing and price verifications for three waters, landfill, and floodbank projects.
